SepSolve Analytical and HyperChrom SA join forces with hyper-fast GC–TOF MS

SepSolve Analytical has announced a strategic partnership with HyperChrom SA. This collaboration brings together HyperChrom’s fast gas chromatography (GC) and SepSolve’s BenchTOF2™ time-of flight mass spectrometer (TOF MS) for hyper-fast GC–TOF MS, empowering scientists to achieve rapid results without compromising on quality or performance.
Standard GC instruments have long been the cornerstone of analytical laboratories, but the time-intensive nature of conventional chromatography methods has often been a bottleneck in analytical workflows, limiting throughput and productivity.
Unfortunately, resorting to direct mass spectrometry (MS) techniques, such as Proton Transfer Reaction – Time-of-Flight Mass Spectrometry (PTR-TOF MS) and selected-ion flow-tube mass spectrometry (SIFT-MS) results in compromises being made i.e. the number of analytes that can be detected and the reliability of analyte identification. It also requires additional optimisation steps (e.g., addition of reagent gases), which adds further complexity to the analysis.
Hyper-fast GC–TOF MS addresses these challenges by significantly reducing analysis times while still maintaining analytical performance. By leveraging innovative flow field thermal gradient technology, fast detection speeds and advanced data processing algorithms, hyper-fast GC–TOF MS provides the separation and quantification of analytes in a fraction of the time required by traditional methods.
