Enhanced characterisation of cannabis extracts using flow-modulated GCxGC–TOF MS/FID with Tandem Ionisation

This study demonstrates the analysis of complex cannabis extracts using the INSIGHT GCxGC flow modulator, with simultaneous detection by TOF MS for confident identification and FID for robust quantitation.

As shown in the example above, GCxGC provides the enhanced separation necessary to enable single-run analysis of a wide range of components, including cannabinoids, terpenoids and pesticides. An additional aspect covered in the study is the use of Tandem Ionisation, which adds an extra level of confidence for compounds exhibiting weak molecular ions and/or similar spectra at 70 eV.
